For What Is There To Repent: Part VII (FINAL)

A/N: C'mon, you didn't really think I would end it like that, did you? Here's the REAL final part, I hope you enjoy it. It'll give you at least a bit more closure. And while I have your attention: I want to give a HUGE thanks to my writing buddies and editors Meghan and Mikaela, … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part VII (FINAL)

For What Is There To Repent: Part VI

After what feels like hours, the front door opens. I want to be relieved, but I’m not sure if it’s Ivan or that thing trying to draw me out. Multiple times since I entered the bathroom, it has spoken in a disembodied voice, trying to lure me out, but I have stayed put, afraid for … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part VI

For What Is There To Repent: Part V

When I wake up, the sun shines brightly through the windows, indicating that it’s sometime in the afternoon. Ivan shouldn’t be at work too much longer.      I'm glad I slept through most of the day. Staying here alone for that long would have terrified me, no matter what I told Ivan.  I was much more … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part V

For What Is There To Repent: Part IV

"Babe? What's wrong?"      His mouth opens, but no sound comes out. I turn around to see what he’s looking at and immediately regret it.      There's a creature on the wall. Not standing against the wall, but on the wall, at a 90 degree angle with the floor, all four limbs bent to maintain its grip. … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part IV

For What Is There To Repent: Part III

There's a couple blankets and a pillow on the floor next to the bed, like someone slept there. Looking behind me, the other side of the bed is crinkled and messy. That’s strange. If Ivan slept in the bed, who was on the floor?      I don't remember drinking last night, but the terrible pain in … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part III

For What Is There To Repent: Part II

"Sometimes I think you're too good for me," I say to Ivan as he comes back in the room, bucket and dirty rag in hand.      "Nonsense," he replies. "I couldn't dream of being with anyone else."      I smile at him as he heads to the bathroom. I hear the shower start, and the water splattering … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part II

For What Is There To Repent: Part I

I wake to the sound of crying. It’s soft, coming from elsewhere in the house. I look at Ivan. He’s still asleep, his face relaxed. I’m glad the crying hasn’t woken him— Ivan is a real grump when he gets woken up. Carefully, I work my way out from under the tangle of covers, gently … Continue reading For What Is There To Repent: Part I

I sadly did not take a photo but today I saw a squirrel carrying a bowl in his mouth, except the bowl was also covering his face so he couldn't see where he was going. He would take a couple steps, stop, look around, take a couple more steps. Eventually he went behind a pillar and adjusted the bowl. It's my girlfriend's birthday!!! I'm not dating a teenager anymore!!! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnXP0pTJ_Dj/ Today is Saturday, tomorrow will be Sunday. Am I supposed to think anything more? Every day, every moment is a new beginning. So here's a Walrus for ya Easily the best Yule present I was gifted this year-- @erinmorgenstern Phantomwise Tarot, which I have wanted eagerly ever since I first learned of its existence. It was gifted to me by my lovely partner, to whom I have also been slowly reading The Night Circus aloud. It is my all-time favorite book, a huge inspiration for me as a writer, and reading it out loud has allowed me to appreciate it in new ways. What a fun solstice season it's been!!! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CmVGxuEDtso/ I realized I never elaborated on this, so I want to take a moment to talk about my family. In October, I fully cut my birth family from my life. This was a terribly difficult decision to make, took months and months of planning, and was tied up in so much hurt and emotion. After more than 10,000 words written, two days of intense hyperfocus (built on over a month of prep work), and so much typing that my index finger aches, I am very excited and proud to say that I am DONE with this semester! Another one in the bag. I am at the point of writing where I have the document open in front if me and am trying to do my hardest to do anything BUT write. I love creative projects. I hate creative projects. Someone save me.
