Love Is(n’t) Love

Love is love,
but only when it’s mine.
Love is love,
two people holding hands;
a soul-filled glance;
that is not love.
The warmth of a smile,
late nights spent
in each other’s arms,
sweet,
hidden kisses,
the connection of joy
between two hearts;
that is not love.
Love
is only love
when it is between two hearts
of opposing genders.
What you feel isn’t love;
it is something far greater
that those blinded by gender
could ever understand.
